PS: The word "meek" doesn't mean weak. The Greek word for meek is praus, which means "strength under control." The Hebrew word for meek is anaw, which refers to someone who is "afflicted or bearing a heavy burden." It is largely an explanation about the circumstance someone is willing to endure, rather than a state to succumb to. Submission doesn't mean giving in - it means a lack of self-concern....and a "disciplined calmness" - even in the face of death.

Jesus Christ’s Resurrection Is Probably The Best-Documented Historical Event Ever

"There are many religions with different founders, prophets, and teachers going back thousands of years. But only one of them, Christianity, has a founder who professed to be the Messiah—the son of God—who provided irrefutable proof of who he was by conquering death through resurrection. Easter is the celebration of Christ’s resurrection.
Christ is also the only person in history who was pre-announced starting a thousand years before he was born, with 18 different prophets from the Old Testament between the tenth and the fourth centuries BC predicting his coming birth, life, and death.
Hundreds of years later, the details of Christ’s birth, life, betrayal, and manner of death validated those prophecies in surprisingly accurate and minute detail.
One thousand years BC, David prophetically wrote about the crucifixion of Christ at a time crucifixion was unknown as a means of execution.
Every other consequential person of history came into the world to live. The death of other religious leaders—such as Abraham, Moses, Buddha, Mohammad, and Confucius—brought an anticlimactic end to their lives and their work.
But Christ came into the world as God’s son in order to die and pay the price for man’s sin. His sacrifice was the ultimate climax of his life, done for the benefit of all mankind—opening the way to eternal life in heaven for all who believe.
Of the four major world religions built on personalities, only Christianity claims its founder is still alive, having overcome death through resurrection.
No Jew ever believed that, after Abraham died and was interred, his tomb ever became empty. After Buddha died, no disciple ever claimed that he or she saw or spoke to him again.
As for Mohammed and his teachings that are the basis of Islam, there is no trace of this founder appearing to his disciples or followers after he died at age 61. His occupied tomb is located in Medina and is visited by tens of thousands of devout Muslims every year.
Christ was unique in that he gave up his life as a sacrifice to fulfill why he came into the world. Christ set the highest standard of love possible, both in his teachings and in making the ultimate sacrifice—giving his life to rescue and save mankind.
Then, to provide “seeing is believing” evidence, God brought Jesus back from being dead in a tomb to being alive—resurrected—so people would have living proof of who he was.
The New Testament provides accounts from multiple sources who witnessed Jesus firsthand after the resurrection. In fact, Jesus made ten separate appearances to his disciples between the resurrection and his ascension into Heaven, over a period of 40 days.
Some of those appearances were to individual disciples, some were to several disciples at the same time, and once even to 500 at one time.
Particularly noteworthy is that there were no accounts of witnesses who came forth and disputed these appearances or called it a “hoax.” Not a single one. Nor do we find any historical record of any witness accounts that were contradictory.
While there are skeptics of the biblical account of Jesus, there’s actually far more reliable historical evidence for his life, teachings, miracles, death, and resurrection than for any other historical figure of ancient times.
Consider, for instance, that the authenticity of Alexander the Great, who was born some 350 years before Christ, is based on two original biographical accounts of his life by Arrian and Plutarch, which were written some 400 years after Alexander died.
The manuscripts of Virgil and Horace, both of whom lived within a generation of Christ, were written more than four centuries after their deaths. The copy of works by Livy and Tacitus on Roman history and the works of Pliny Secundus on natural history were written on average some 700 years after the time of the original account.
Yet no one doubts Virgil and Horace lived and authored great poetic masterpieces. Nor do we hear questions about the authenticity and accuracy of accounts of Livy and Tacitus in chronicling the events of the Roman Emperors Augustus, Claudius, Nero, or Tiberius.
About 1,000 times more manuscripts preserve the deeds and teaching of Jesus in the New Testament (about 25,000 total) than there are preserving other classical ancient works of historic figures who lived at approximately the same time, with the exception of Homer, whose “Iliad” is backed by 1,800 manuscripts.
But that is still less than one-tenth the number of ancient manuscripts that back the authenticity of the New Testament.
We know the historical Jesus mainly through four different accounts known as the gospels—Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John—not written hundreds of years later, but within a generation or two of Jesus’s life. Apostles Matthew and John provide eyewitness accounts from their years of walking with Jesus as disciples.
Mark also had eyewitness experience, although he was only a teenager when Jesus began his public ministry. Luke, the doctor, learned about Jesus from his friend Paul, the apostle who wrote the most letters in the New Testament.
Because of their experience with the resurrected Jesus, the apostles were in a unique position, knowing with certainty that Jesus was truly the Son of God. They had been present for the life, ministry, miracles, and death of Jesus. If the claims about Jesus were a lie, the apostles would have known it. That’s why their commitment to their testimony was so powerful and compelling.
Additionally, the apostles’ willingness to die for their claims has tremendous evidential value, also confirming the truth of the resurrection. No one will die for something he invented or believes to be false.
Seeing, talking to, and touching the risen Jesus transformed the apostles, who then committed the rest of their lives to educate and advocate for the truth about the message of salvation through Christ.
With the exception of John, who died exiled on the island of Patmos for his testimony of Jesus, the other 11 apostles—including Matthias who replaced Judas, the betrayer of Jesus—died as martyrs for their beliefs in the divinity of Christ.
It turns out that Easter, which has its ultimate meaning in the resurrection, is one of ancient history’s most carefully scrutinized and best-attested events.
The resurrection is real, and changes everything. Easter is the commemoration and celebration of the single event that transformed the world forever."

Many Christians tell me they don't know HOW to share the power of God with unbelievers - because they say "science" says he could not exist.
Well, here's one good way to do it. Show them the science!
Even the world's leading SCIENTISTS say the universe could NOT exist without a creator! What you were taught in school is wrong. The Big Bang could NOT have happened without a creator!
In 2017, the scientists at CERN said that the "big bang theory" that we were all taught in school did NOT make sense - and that if it really happened that way - the universe should NOT exist!
The scientists at CERN said that their research showed it was MORE likely that the universe was made by a creator! They say the universe is truly a MIRACLE unexplained by our understanding!
So when your atheist friends tell you there is no God - tell them that even "science" says there is a God!

There is one true Jesus that is revealed to us in the Scriptures and another that has been concocted by Satan to deceive people. The modern day concoction of Jesus really isn’t anything new. The Apostle Paul warned the church almost 2,000 years ago about a counterfeit Jesus and a counterfeit Gospel.
He said:
"You happily put up with whatever anyone tells you, even if they preach a different Jesus than the one we preach, or a different kind of Spirit than the one you received, or a different kind of gospel than the one you believed."
-2 Corinthians 11:4
Then Paul said if this surprises you, it really shouldn’t. Because:
"For such people are false apostles, deceitful workers, masquerading as apostles of Christ. And no wonder, for Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light. It is not surprising, then, if his servants also masquerade as servants of righteousness. Their end will be what their actions deserve."
-2 Corinthians 11:13-15
Satan has redefined LOVE to mean acceptance and tolerance of every evil. In fact, Satan has even convinced many that he doesn't exist!

Many have bought into Satan's concept of LOVE - which is the narcissistic and humanistic celebration of people’s free will to unconditionally relish and delight in whatever makes them feel good. Satan is hard at work producing counterfeits of all that is good. Which Jesus do you follow?
God CHOSE Paul to be his messenger. Who are we to say who is and who is not worthy?
APOSTLE PAUL WAS A PASTOR, MARTYR, MURDERER AND SPY
The Apostle Paul is probably the most influential person in Christian history (other than Jesus, of course). He was a missionary who spread the gospel. He also wrote almost half of the books in the New Testament, including Galatians, Ephesians, Philippians, and Titus.
His life mattered.
Paul was very effective at his life’s work, and for good reason. He was ideally suited for and skilled at what he did. For example:
1) He was both a Roman and a Jew. Paul was born in Tarsus, a Roman city and capital of the province. He and his family were Jewish, though. That’s the real reason why he had two names: Saul was a traditional Hebrew name (think King Saul), while Paul was his Roman name used when he started his missionary work in Gentile areas. The fact that he was both allowed him to fit in anywhere (1 Corinthians 9:20-22), like a first-century spy.
2) He spoke the language. Literally. He spoke Greek, the common language of the Gentile areas he ministered in, because Tarsus was a Greek-speaking city. He also spoke Aramaic and/or Hebrew, the language of the Jews. See Acts 21:32-22:2 for the importance of his bilingual skills.
3) He was crazy smart. Tarsus was a university city, known for scholarly pursuits. Think Cambridge. This is probably a big source of the philosophy and debating skills he later showed in his letters and in places like Athens (see Acts 17:16-21).
4) He was a Pharisee. This is why he was also crazy smart when it came to understanding the Old Testament and explaining how Jesus fulfilled the Scriptures. He was “thoroughly trained in the law” by Gamaliel (Acts 22:3), which is sort of like saying you learned physics from Stephen Hawking. Pharisees were also strict legalists, which is why Paul was so impacted by Jesus’ grace and got so worked up when speaking against legalism in Galatians.
5) He was a Roman citizen. And a Roman citizen by birth, because he was born in Tarsus. This was a rare and valuable thing at the time, giving him special rights and privileges and saving his neck at least once (see Acts 22:24-29).
6) He was single. Though many single Christians today see that as a curse, Paul saw this as an advantage. It allowed him to travel freely and focus fully on reaching the lost (1 Corinthians 7:32-35).
7) He persecuted Christians. He threw many in jail, assisted in at least one murder (Acts 8:1-3), and threatened to murder others (Acts 9:1). This ended up giving him the most powerful testimony imaginable: the person who tried to destroy the Church by stoning and imprisoning Christians ended up being willingly stoned and imprisoned himself in order to build the Church. The truth of the gospel was that important.
Now, here’s why I think all of this matters to you or I today: every single one of the things that made Paul so effective occurred before he became a Christian. They were not the result of Paul trying to be a better Christian; they were from the “wasted” part of his life, when he was a very literal enemy of God.
This is the same guy who wrote Ephesians 2:10:
"For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."
Paul was successful because God prepared him in advance to do a specific work for Him. As it says in Acts 9:15-16, right at the time of his conversion:
But the Lord said to Ananias, “Go! This man is my chosen instrument to proclaim my name to the Gentiles and their kings and to the people of Israel.”
That’s exactly what he ended up doing. God had it all planned out, even to the point of Paul getting arrested because that would put him in front of governors and kings and give him the legal right to present his case to Caesar.
God has a plan for each believer. He has a plan for you. If you wonder what that plan is, look at how He has prepared you: the skills, passions, and experiences (even bad experiences) that you already have. God loves to redeem the past of sinners like me by using that past to reach others.

Prior to his imprisonment & execution by Nero, Paul traveled over 10,000 miles for over 30 years establishing Christian communities throughout the ancient world. Paul’s life was well documented by Luke and was included in one of the most widely read books of the New Testament: The Acts of the Apostles.
Remember that Emperor Nero burned down Rome so he could "build it back better" in his own image. Nero blamed Apostle Paul & the Christians for the fires he set himself and put them to death! History is repeating itself.
HOW THE APOSTLES DIED
1. Matthew. Suffered martyrdom in Ethiopia, Killed by a sword wound.
2. Mark. Died in Alexandria, Egypt , after being dragged by Horses through the streets until he was dead.
3. Luke. Was hanged in Greece as a result of his tremendous Preaching to the lost.
4. John. Faced martyrdom when he was boiled in huge Basin of boiling oil during a wave of persecution In Rome. However, he was miraculously delivered From death.
John was then sentenced to the mines on the prison Island of Patmos. He wrote his prophetic Book of Revelation on Patmos . The apostle John was later freed and returned to serve As Bishop of Edessa in modern Turkey . He died as an old man, the only apostle to die peacefully
5. Peter. He was crucified upside down on an x shaped cross. According to church tradition it was because he told his tormentors that he felt unworthy to die In the same way that Jesus Christ had died.
6. James. The leader of the church in Jerusalem , was thrown over a hundred feet down from the southeast pinnacle of the Temple when he refused to deny his faith in Christ. When they discovered that he survived the fall, his enemies beat James to death with a fuller's club.
This was the same pinnacle where Satan had taken Jesus during the Temptation.
7. James the Son of Zebedee was a fisherman by trade when Jesus Called him to a lifetime of ministry.
As a strong leader of the church, James was beheaded at Jerusalem. The Roman officer who guarded James watched amazed as James defended his faith at his trial.
Later, the officer Walked beside James to the place of execution. Overcome by conviction, he declared his new faith to the judge and Knelt beside James to accept beheading as a Christian.
8. Bartholomew. Also known as Nathaniel. He Was a missionary to Asia. He witnessed for our Lord in present day Turkey. Bartholomew was martyred for his preaching in Armenia where he was flayed to death by a whip.
9. Andrew. He Was crucified on an x-shaped cross in Patras, Greece. After being whipped severely by seven soldiers they tied his body to the cross with cords to prolong his agony.
His followers reported that, when he was led toward the cross, Andrew saluted it in these words, "I have long desired and expected this happy hour. The cross has been consecrated by the body of Christ hanging on it". He continued to preach to his tormentors For two days until he expired.
10. Thomas. He Was stabbed with a spear in India during one of his missionary trips to establish the church in the Subcontinent.
11. Jude. He Was killed with arrows when he refused to deny his faith in Christ.
12. Matthias. The apostle chosen to replace the traitor Judas Iscariot. He was stoned and then beheaded.
13. Paul. He Was tortured and then beheaded by the evil Emperor Nero at Rome in A.D. 67. Paul endured a lengthy imprisonment, which allowed him to write his many epistles to the churches he had formed throughout the Roman Empire. These letters, which taught many of the foundational Doctrines of Christianity, form a large portion of the New Testament.
Perhaps this is a reminder to us that our sufferings here are indeed minor to compare to the intense persecution and cold cruelty faced by the apostles and disciples during their times For the sake of the Faith.
I was baptized last summer in front of the congregation of my new church in Wisconsin at a nearby lake.
I gave a short testimony about how God has impacted my life, why I wanted to be baptized again now and told the Pastor that I imagined he was John the Baptist at the Jordan River. He smiled.
I was born again in high school and then spent most of my adult life running away from God - I worshipped other things above God like alcohol, work and money and sought praise and validation from other people.
Today I declare that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior. His opinion of me is the ONLY opinion that matters. I am who He says I am! Praise God!
“The fear of human opinion disables; trusting in God protects you from that.” (Proverbs 29:25)
People send me emails often to ask me my view on the "end times." I don't feel qualified to answer that - but here is what I believe:
Every generation of Christians has believed the end times would happen in their day. Even during the lifetime of Paul. Our generation is no different.
I think everybody should take reasonable precautions and be as prepared as possible - but I don't think Jesus wants us to spend our days being anxious and worried - filled with panic, fear and doubt:
"God has not given us a spirit of fear - but of power and of love and of sound mind. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. In this world you will have tribulations. But be of good cheer, for I have overcome the world.
The wise man is the one who hears these words of mine and does them. He is like a man who builds his house on a rock. And when the wind and the rains and the storm burst against that house, it does not fall, because it has been built solidly on rock."
