Who can you trust in the media?
I used to be quite a trusting person. My dad was brutally honest and I found it hard to believe that people would actually lie right to your face. But they do! I still have a hard time understanding that!
I didn't really realize how fake the media was until 2015 when I started analyzing hundreds of pundits to make a decision about who to vote for in 2016 for President. That was my first foray into Twitter and Facebook.
When I started looking in-depth at all the media sources - now readily available through social media - their flip flopping drove me crazy. I couldn't figure out who was telling the truth and who wasn't. Internet searches didn’t help - because the internet only showed me what they wanted me to see! So I made it my mission to figure it out. It’s been 7 years and I am still figuring it out!
I used to write down headlines and people’s quotes and put them in a spreadsheet so I could reference them later. Then a month later they would say exactly the opposite thing. I would go back in time to see what they said over the years on a topic - and I found many took EVERY SIDE of an argument. Why? So they could claim they were right! A broken clock is right twice a day too!
Several pundits and reporters that I had trusted for years disappointed me and I realized then that I had no idea how dishonest the media was. Even though it was my career!
That's why - when I say guys like Bannon and Tucker and Posobiec and Cates and Cernovich and Shapiro and Beck and O'Reilly need to be taken with a grain of salt - it’s because they have proven in the past - by their words and actions - that they can’t be trusted to be men of conviction.
Does it mean I don't listen to them? No, but it means that I don’t believe everything they say and realize they have other motives. Does that mean they are always wrong? No, it means they use truth as a weapon so they can lie to you later with impunity! Does it mean I don’t believe people can change? No, but people don’t flip flop back and forth unless they have an agenda!
In the end, the only people that I found to be historically consistent were Trump, Limbaugh, Nunes, Giuliani, Sundance and Lindell.
Today, I am putting my trust in Paul Sperry, Lara Logan and Kash Patel because - so far - they have been consistent. Will they prove me wrong? Time will tell.
