President Trump called Kristen Welker before she went on the air for Meet the Press this morning and told her to report that he was "pissed off" at Putin for playing games and if he doesn't come to the table soon for peace that he was going to get tough with Putin, like he did in 2017, and add a secondary tariff to Russian oil and gas.
Meaning, if anybody buys oil and gas from Russia they will be charged an additional 25-50% tax on imports to the US. This is the same secondary tariff Trump has implemented on those buying Venezuelan oil - starting on April 2nd.
Trump said he'll be talking to Putin this week.
He also told Welker that if Iran doesn't agree to a nuclear deal, Trump is considering secondary tariffs and there "will be bombing the likes of which they have never seen before." This likely means possibly targeting nuclear facilities, military sites, or even broader infrastructure that Iran uses to promote terror around the world.
Finally, Trump told her to tell the world that he does NOT intend to fire Hegseth & Waltz for SignalGate because: "I don't fire people because of fake news and because of witch hunts." Are all the RINOS and Koch Libertarian saboteurs listening who have been spreading this garbage?
People are going to say "Why did Trump call Welker at Meet the Press on NBC?"
BECAUSE THEY HAVE THE HIGHEST RATINGS ON SUNDAY MORNING AND HE GOES WHERE THE PEOPLE ARE. It has DOUBLE the audience of Maria's Sunday show on Fox News and will be much more widely quoted.
This is how Trump works when the fake news (including Fox) refuse to ask him the right questions or interrupt him when he’s trying to explain something. He just calls them up and gives them an exclusive like this. Much more powerful IMHO.
