HERE IS THE SCHEDULE FOR PRESIDENT TRUMP’S INAUGURATION - SUBJECT TO CHANGE:
President Trump arrived in DC last night on AF1, Squawk 4547.
Sunday morning, he is hosting a private breakfast with Republican Senators at Blair House, the 19th century mansion across the street from the White House, which serves as the president’s exclusive guesthouse, often used by world leaders.
He will then travel to Arlington National Cemetery to pay tribute to fallen U.S. service members.
Starting at 3pm ET Sunday, Trump will hold a rally at the Capital One Arena in DC with 20,000 patriots. He will end his day by attending a candlelight dinner with supporters.
Tomorrow, Trump will attend church early, have tea at the White House and then take the oath of office at 12NOON ET from inside the Capitol Rotunda. The Rotunda is always prepared as an alternative for each inauguration in the event of inclement weather. The swearing-in was last moved indoors in 1985, when President Ronald Reagan began his second term.
Biden, members of Congress and other dignitaries and notable guests will be able to view the ceremony from inside the Capitol.
The outside areas of the Capitol will be closed for security reasons so even if people wanted to gather there as Trump takes the oath inside, they won’t be allowed to do so.
The Rotunda can only hold about 600 people.
Timothy Cardinal Dolan, archbishop of New York, will deliver an invocation. Reverend Franklin Graham, son of Billy Graham, will also deliver an invocation. The benediction will be delivered by four other religious figures: Rabbi Ari Berman, Imam Husham Al Husainy, Senior Pastor Lorenzo Sewell and Reverend Father Frank Mann.
Justice Brett Kavanaugh will deliver the oath of office to JD Vance. Supreme Court Justice John Roberts will administer the oath of office to Trump.
The Capital One Arena, which holds 20,000 people, will re-open during Trump's inauguration on Monday so people can watch remotely his swearing in from there. Plans are underway to also accommodate more of the tens of thousands of expected attendees at DC's professional basketball and hockey arena.
Trump also said that Capital One Arena would “host the Presidential Parade.” Trump said he would “join the crowd” at Capital One Arena after he takes the oath. He may also sign executive orders at the arena in front of supporters.
On Monday evening, Trump will participate in three inaugural balls that will take place as scheduled.
Trump, of course, said the inauguration was moved inside due to weather.
I believe that’s partly true - but the Secret Service (under new leadership) apparently said they can’t protect Trump outside because the local police won’t follow their rules of engagement and they expect problems from every direction. From a source I trust:
They must have evidence of multiple threats - because several cars in President Trump’s motorcade appear to have anti-drone jammers mounted on top.
These radio frequency jammers disrupt the communication between drones and their operators, effectively disabling drones' navigation and control.
They can also broadcast fake GPS signals to mislead drones about their location, causing them to either malfunction or exit the restricted airspace.
Now you know what the drones were likely practicing for!
DID YOU KNOW: The first-ever presidential inauguration of George Washington was supposed to take place on the first Wednesday in March, which set the precedent for the March 4 date. However, it ended up being pushed to April 30, 1789, due to inclement weather preventing Congress from arriving in New York City in time for the planned ceremonies.
Inauguration Day has officially been January 20 (or January 21 if the 20th falls on a Sunday) since 1937, after the 20th Amendment was passed. Prior to that, Inauguration Day took place on March 4 or 5 (if the 4th fell on a Sunday.)
In 2025, Inauguration Day falls on Martin Luther King Day.
The president-elect officially becomes the sitting President at the stroke of noon on January 20. This is true regardless of if the president has taken the presidential oath of office or not.
Here’s a first look at most of President Trump’s cabinet. A good looking group - smart and capable. Pray for them. Pray for us all. God Bless America!
